Art Show

A Call To Artists!

The 2014 Sandhill Crane Festival Art Show will include watercolors, oils, etchings, sculptures, other fine art and photographs depicting Sandhill Cranes, other California wildlife, and their natural habitats.  This year's Festival Artist is Stella Stevens, whose watercolors will be featured at the Art Show.

The Art Show will be at Hutchins Street Square in the Cottage-Pisano rooms from November 7th - 9th and admission is free.  Art can be viewed Friday evening, from 6 to 8:30 PM, on Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and on Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM. On Friday you can meet the 2014 Festival Artist, Stella Stevens, and enjoy coffee and desserts.  Visitors to the exhibit will vote for their favorite Fine Art piece and Photograph during the show for one “People’s Choice Award” in each Division.  The full Call to Artists and Entry form can be downloaded here.

Origami Cranes

All ages are invited to fold origami cranes in the Cottage-Pisano foyer during the Festival – just follow the trail of folded cranes to the tables!

This activity is organized by the Central Valley Student Chapter of People to People International, a group that promotes international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities.
An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. Today the origami crane is also a symbol of peace.
