Art Show

The 2016 Sandhill Crane Festival Art Show will include watercolors, oils, etchings, sculptures, other fine art and photographs depicting Sandhill Cranes, other California wildlife, and their natural habitats. This year we will feature photographs by Rich Turner, a Stockton photographer known for his landscape and wildlife images of the California Delta.

The Art Show will be at Hutchins Street Square in the Cottage-Pisano rooms from November 4th to 6th and admission is free. Art can be viewed Friday evening, from 6 to 8:30 PM, on Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and on Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM. On Friday you can meet the 2016 Festival Artist, Rich Turner, and enjoy coffee and desserts. Visitors can vote for their favorite Fine Art piece and Photograph during the show for one "People's Choice Award" in each Division.

A Call To Artists!

Call to Artists! The Sandhill Crane Festival is soliciting original artwork for its art show, with an entry deadline of October 1st.

Origami Cranes

All ages are invited to fold origami cranes in the Cottage-Pisano foyer during the Festival – just follow the trail of folded cranes to the tables!

This activity is organized by the Central Valley Student Chapter of People to People International, a group that promotes international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities.
An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. Today the origami crane is also a symbol of peace.
