Joan Garland is the Acting Director of Education at the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo, Wisconsin. ICF works worldwide to conserve cranes and the wetland and grassland ecosystems on which they depend. Joan has worked at ICF for seven years and is a Co-leader of the Whooping Crane Eastern Partnership, the team of non-profit and government agencies reintroducing a migratory flock of whooping cranes into eastern North America. For the past four years, Joan has accompanied the migration down to Florida. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, she received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
